Restaurant Week @ Belga Cafe

belgaWhat can $20.09 or $35.09 buy you this week? Quite a bit of tastiness at Belga Cafe. Here’s their menu for DC Restaurant Week, which runs through Sunday.

Dinner Menu $35.09

Starters

Salad of yellow, red and candied roast beets with warm goat cheese, baby frisée, garlic croutons and pickled red onions or Grandmother’s chicken liver mousse with port gelée grilled tartine and fleur de sel, compote of red wine onions

Main Course

Grilled and slow cooked short rib, yellow corn gratinée, Leffe brown sauce and sautéed spring onions with mushrooms and green peas or Grilled filet of salmon, fried green tomatoes, grilled zucchini organic tomato salad and warm dressing or Warm roasted Green Fence Farm vegetables with pearl pasta, herb salad with balsamic dressing

Dessert

Yellow Virginia peach tart with peach beer ice cream or Hoegaarden ice cream floats with raspberry waffle

Lunch Menu $20.09

Starters

Organic watermelon salad from Maryland with feta cheese and extra virgin olive oil with lemon thyme or Arugula and frisée salad with baby garlic croutons, organic Quail eggs from Green Fence Farm bacon bits and beer dressing

Main Course

Mussels Provençal: light tomato broth with sweet onions and basil, real Belgian fries and aioli mayonnaise or Grilled filet of trout with lemon fennel salad, compote of heirloom tomatoes and lemon oil or a salad with grilled hanger steak, sauce verge and a rustic farm salad with grilled potatoes

Dessert

The Chef’s white chocolate mousse, with young goat cheese, vanilla, red and yellow plum compote or Composition of red fruits with cherry beer gelée and vanilla ice cream with red basil syrup
