From the weather reports, it sounds like the typical summer humidity is coming back to town this weekend. A number of events and classes going on this weekend provide good reasons to pull you away from the AC at home.
Hills Kitchen offers two cooking classes: Preserving Summer: Pickles, on Saturday, July 18 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for $45, and Grill Marks: Hot Meals, Cool Kitchen on Sunday, July 19, 3-4:30 p.m. $55.
At Capitol Hill Yoga, instructor Elizabeth Goodman presents “Saturday… from 3-5 p.m. The workshop features a combination of restorative poses, stretches and Anasura realignment techniques, as well as mindful breathing and meditation. The workshop costs $22.
CHAW Films on the Hill is screening Love Thy Neighbor with Jack Benny and Fred Allen, on July 18 at 7 p.m. in the CHAW Black Box Theatre. They’ve also announced their fall youth arts program. Register by July 25 for a 10% discount. Registration closes
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church hosts Washington Early Music Festival Gala Concert on Friday, July 18, 8 p.m. The $40 tickets ($20 for students) will raise funds for a June 2010 festival.
